Fashion designers sketchbooks by Hywel Davies- a book I have beenloving!

I thought I would do something a bit different and tell you all about this book that I have been loving so much! I love looking at fashion and designing and things like that and this is just such a good book to read if you're into fashion like me!

The front cover of the book is really quirky and nice, I particularly like the design on the front and how it's also got a hard back to it. This book is filled with so many well known designers including       and it's so intruiging looking at their ideas and how it all started, especially Vivian Westwood I found that particularly interesting! I think it's so cool to have an insight into the designers mind, not only does it just have pictures and sketches it has fabric samples in there too to show the process of the designs. So good for anyone who is thinking about going into fashion designing or just wants some inspiration
These are some of my favourite pages from the book, I just love looking at this kind of thing!

This book is quite expensive it's originally £28 pounds but you can get in on amazon for £18.99 which is quite good considering the thickness of the book and how good the content of it is, I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in fashion.

Just to let you all know that I am going to try to aim to post on a Wednesday (so a mid week post like today) and then on a Saturday, I have a lot of exams coming up so if I'm not posting as frequently that's why but I am going to at least post once a week! Hope you've liked this post, speak to you soon love Chloe xxx

My latest discovery- Verity Anne!

I know that I don't usually post on Tuesdays but I got so excited about this that I just couldn't wait to post it!

This is a clothing line which I have discovered very recently and I think it is all beautiful. It is called Verity Anne and all of the clothes are handmade by the designer herself! There are some beautiful pieces for the summer, I particularly like the two pieces, I will definitely be purchasing some of these very soon!! I think that they are just so unique and I love how they do up at the back too, I mentioned this in my prom dress post but I love backless anything, anything which is backless I just instantly love haha.

All of these designs are so original too and I haven't really seen anything quite like them, especially how the back tied up with the ribbon, love it!

I would definitely recommend checking out her website http://verityanne.bigcartel.com all pieces are so reasonable and just so beautiful, this is something I'm really excited about and can't wait to receive some of these!

I hope you've enjoyed this post, speak to you soon love Chloe xxx

Ps. All of these photos are not my own, these are from the Verity Anne website.

Adding a pop of colour to an outfit...

This is a look that I've really been liking recently, I love black, it's possibly my favourite colour to wear! I think it's so slimming on anyone and it's so easy to wear, it can be dressed up or dressed down.

This outfit is a recent purchase of mine and I really love this skort in particular, skorts are really in at the moment and I think they are so practical. This skort is from topshop, in fact all of this outfit is from topshop! Apart from the shoes haha! It was £32 so quite expensive but definitely worth the money and I know I'll get so much wear from it. I love these off the shoulder tops too, this was £10 and so practical, you can wear it with any outfit! The shoes are from missguided, £18 so reasonable!

I've decided to accesorize this outfit and add a pop of colour and I thought the perfect colour to do this is blue! It's an aqua blue and I'm just loving this colour at the moment. The nail varnish is from Rimmel and it's from their 60 seconds range in the shade sky high (keep your eyes peeled for a post on them soon). These necklaces came in a set from topshop and they were £16, I love layering jewellery! The earrings also from topshop, £6, and the ring from urban outfitters for £8. Adding a pop of colour to a black outfit is just so nice! And it makes your outfit so much prettier, and really just brightens your whole outfit up!

I hope you've liked this post, speak to you soon love Chloe xxx

My fairy light obsession/new fairy lights!

I really love fairy lights! They're so pretty and I think that they're a perfect accessory for your room they make such a difference, but instead of just buying the plain lights I thought I would show you these really pretty flower fairy lights I found! I thought these were too pretty not to share with you.

They are so so pretty and I love them so much! They are from urban outfitters and are £28 so quite expensive but definitely worth the money! Speak to you soon love Chloe xxx

Smashbox full exposure palette review

It was my birthday recently and my friends kindly bought me the smashbox full exposure eye palette! I love it. I have a big love for nude palettes anyway but I think this is just so beautiful, it has the perfect shades for everyday and for an evening out, so perfect for any event, I have heard some mixed reviews about this palette but personally I really like it.

What I love most about this palette is how it has absolutely everything you need, it comes with 7 matte shades and 7 shimmers, there is a highlight shade, a transition shade and brow colours (if you like to fill in your brows with eyeshadow), and the matte black colour for an eyeliner-perfect! The pigmentation with the shimmer could be better but you can get the perfect pigmentation you want just by layering it up.

I really like how for each shade there is a shimmer to match, the one which I've been loving layering recently is the third set, this colour really suits my eye colour, so for anyone with green eyes look for warmer tones like these to really compliment and bring out your eyes.

What I found really useful was the little leaflet that it came with, it tells you all about how to apply eyeshadow best for your eye shape so for beginners or even people who use eyeshadow it's really helpful and teaches you more about your eye shape and what suits you best. It also gives you three steps to three different looks for each eye shape which I think is really good because it gives you more ideas to experiment- overall I found this leaflet very handy and I haven't really seen a palette which comes with a leaflet like this before, it's very good for beginners like me haha!

The brush it came with is also very good this may sound odd but as I'm sure many of you who have bought eye shadow palettes have found in the past the brushes aren't that great, often I use my real techniques brushes but this brush is really good and I think it blends really well, there is two sides to it, one for shimmer and one for matte, I think its good to keep the matte and shimmer separate.

Overall I'm so impressed with this and have fallen in love! Would definitely recommend it to everyone who loves a nude palette or even to anyone who is just starting to experiment with eyeshadows this is a great every day palette. I hope you've liked this post speak to you soon! Love Chloe xxx

My visit to Elliot Clare, prom dress shopping/advice

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted! There has been so much going on I just haven't had the time but to make it up, I will be posting three posts in the next three days!

I have been searching around for a prom dress for ages and I finally went to try on this one I found online from a boutique called www.elliotclare.com, they have a showroom in london in hatton gardens, which I went to visit and it was so pretty, I have a bit of an obsession with fairy lights and the fairy lights outside were so pretty and so was the decor inside!

When I arrived I saw the dress that I wanted but it was different from what it appeared to be online, but I then got to speak to the designer. This was a really good experience for me and I loved talking to her and learning more about how she designs the dresses, it was quite inspiring for me really as this is what I hope to do one day! After talking to the designer we worked out how to make the dress how I wanted it and this is what my dress looks like...

I thought this post might be useful so some people who like me have a prom coming up this year. I didn't really know what colours suited me and what colour dress to get and I went looking around and couldn't find one I liked for ages. I have quite fair skin so to bring that out and make me stand out I got recommended by someone to look at light/ice blues, I'm not really a blue kind of person and often like to stay a bit more safe and not as bold but I looked around anyway; I found out after trying a few on I didn't like it. But then I came across this dress, and it's such a beautiful rosy pink- if you're struggling to find a dress and you're fair skinned like me try a light pink dress!

The back is so beautiful, I've struggled to find a dress with a lower back and I can't believe how lucky I am to have found one like this it's so unique and I just love it.

Colours that suit fairer skin;
Emerald green
Navy blue
Icy blue
Rosy pink
Reds (depending on how fair your skin is, it could be too overpowering)

If you have fair skin avoid earthy tones such as beige, orange, creams and terracottas because they will just wash you out completely!

Colours that suit warmer/darker skin tones;
Beiges
Creams
Light blues
Blacks and greys
Browns
Pastels

If you have a warmer/darker skin tone then avoid dull colours like navy and browns, yellow and green because you'll find they don't suit you as well, it may be different for some people so you can try it out but they aren't meant to suit your skin tone.

I hope that this post has been of some help to some people, or if not you've still liked it haha, speak to you soon, love Chloe xxx
